Weekend Snapshots: Labor Day

Saturday morning Pinkberry date.

Homemade french toast muffins with cinnamon and sugar.

Ready for fall with gingham + arm party + Essie's chinchilly.

Delicious Mediterranean slate from Armsby Abbey.

Summer's last BLT with farmers market heirloom tomatoes.

Sparkly ring finger inspired by this photo.

Rhode Island themed onesies for our friends' new baby boy.

Look at the cheeks on baby Brandon!

I can't believe Labor Day has come and gone. It feels like I was just celebrating my cousin's wedding over 4th of July. I spent the long weekend with lots of grilling, fun times with friends, soaking up the sun, and getting back to some of my regular routines (now that summer is winding down).
What did you do?

Showering Babies

I love sunny, springy days spent celebrating with friends and gawking at an overload of teeny, tiny baby outfits! Don't these cookies make the perfect party favor? I loved the blue ribbon ties and miniature pacifier charms.

Mini Mazel

It seems like half of the girls I know are pregnant or have little ones right now. This hysterical onesie might have to be my new go-to gift for baby showers (replacing this one). I love Bravo and I love Andy Cohen even more (the mazel of the week cracks me up!). I'm counting the days until the Real Housewives of New Jersey reunion show extravaganza (only 6 more days). Have you seen the previews? Theresa pushes Andy out of the way to get at Danielle!

Drama!!!

Maptotes

With more and more people going green by carrying reusable totes for groceries and other shopping excursions, it's hard to stand out in the crowd. That's why I love these canvas totes from Maptotes. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes and you can choose from over 40 locales, from Nantucket to Tokyo and lots of places in between. I'm partial to Washington DC and all of the New England totes, especially Martha's Vineyard! Not in the market for canvas totes? No problem! They also have notepads, onesies, and wine carriers. Cute + good for the environment = two green thumbs up!

Which city would you represent?

Little Swimmers

I attended a first birthday party yesterday and was having trouble coming up with a fun gift. Luckily, my friend Heather pointed me in the right direction and I went straight to Baby Gap in search of a swimsuit. Once I arrived, I thought I'd never leave! There were soooo many cute little suits and beach accessories. It was more fun than shopping for myself!

I ended up purchasing the shark bite trunks and matching flip flops with a tiny rash guard shirt (for when Mini Justin learns to surf)! I could have scooped up loads more, but I don't have any babies to outfit right now. These are just some of my favorites (how cute is the giraffe print?!). Click here to see the full collection. And be prepared to awwwwww!

Rocker Baby

If I had a mini-me right now, I'd make sure he (or she) owned this rad little Beastie Boys onesie. Because it's never too early to start some hip-hop education. So cute.

There's No Place Like Home

I'm having a blast at home so far. The weather is perfect, the puppy is adorable, and it's been great to catch up with friends and family. Hope you're having a fun weekend too! I can't wait for the baby shower this afternoon. My mom has been working so hard on decorations, finger foods, and flower arrangements. I know Lauren is going to love it! Photos to come...

And Exhale

Ahhh, another work week in the books, and a busy one at that. I'm looking forward to curling up with a good book this weekend and getting some things done around the house. We're supposed to have torrential rain all weekend. I'm hoping to try out some new recipes (like blueberry ricotta pancakes) and catch up on all of my regular blog reads I have been neglecting this week. I'm also researching ideas for a nautical-themed baby shower that my sister is planning for her friend at the end of April. Isn't the theme adorable?! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm off to enjoy a glass of wine and catch up with a friend.
Happy Friday!

Nymbler

I don't have a very long attention span, especially when I'm sitting down at the computer, but this website is addicting! It's called Nymbler and it's marketed as "your personal baby name assistant". Not that I'm in the market for naming babies, but it's fun to look. Some girls keep lists of top ten boys and girls names long before babies are even on the brain. Others need some help with creativity and originality. That's where Nymbler comes in. You choose six "inspiration" names that you like (for a boy or a girl) and then Nymbler matches names that are similar to your top picks. They use a genetic algorithm called Hunch Technology to list computer-generated matches that should suit your personality.

It all sounds a little complex, but it's simple to use and it works! I really liked some of the names that they generated based on my "inspiration" names. You can also check out the Nymbler blog to see the most popular boys and girls names of the past months. It's fun to see trends in names and how many are unisex these days. There are celebrity baby name trends and fictional characters, too! Do Bella and Esme ring any bells? They've climbed to the top of the list in the past few years.

This could be applied to animals too, maybe?!
