Take a peek at my new favorite tinted lip balm made by fresh. I was first introduced to lip sugar by my sister, Austin, so while I was home I made sure to buy a tube of my own. I've taken it everywhere with me and I really love the sheer color and sweet smell, plus it has SPF 15.
I definitely recommend trying it out!

Lip Service
Thanks to Tiane's tweet earlier today, I finally scored this perfect little orb of lip balm. Twitter is good for something! Turns out, it's been right under my nose (or at CVS two blocks away) this entire time and not at my local Target (7 miles away) like I thought. And, if that's not enough, it was also on sale. What a nice way to head into the weekend!

Color Wonder

I ventured into Sephora yesterday afternoon with hopes of scooping up the new Tarte lip stain. Unfortunately, they were sold out of the color I wanted, but I still got to try it on and I loved it! I'm definitely going to order it from their website. Sephora is so much fun to go into, even though it can be a little overwhelming. I just love to look at all of the different colors and creative packaging that goes into cosmetics. Half the time I just want to buy something because of how it looks sitting on the shelf, nevermind how it's going to look on me! I'm especially drawn to the Philosophy section (because everything smells so good) and the display of Sephora's own line of eyeshadows and pencils. It's like my very own life-sized Crayola box! Seriously, I'm in a trance again just thinking about it. I have to limit how much time I spend in there, because I could spend 45 minutes just wandering around aimlessly. I also like the enticing little bins of goodies they have strategically placed near the registers. I always "happen" to find something last-minute that I need (mostly because it's miniature and cute). It's so much fun being a girl!
Do you love Sephora as much as I do?

Sweet Tarte

I am dying to try the newest lip product from Tarte. It's a lip stain (similar to their famous cheek stain) that provides all day coverage without the heaviness of lipstick. I'm a lip balm and gloss kinda girl and this seems like a nice alternative. Plus, it has some special new "LipSurgence" technology that guarantees to make your lips 6000% more moist. Yes, 6000 percent. Not sure how they figured that out, but it sold me. I'm a fan of the light pink color called Charmed.
I love trying out new beauty finds, don't you!

Ahh Relaxation

I've already had a nice start to my weekend. I finished up at the office a little early and went out with M to one of our favorite spots for lunch, Cuban Revolution. They have yummy empanadas and freshly made guacamole that's always delicious. I love the decor, too. The walls are adorned with huge canvases with graffiti-style portraits of 60s icons like Marilyn Monroe, JFK, and Fidel Castro. They're so bright and colorful. I wish I could have one for my apartment. Afterwards, M went to Friday night poker with the boys and I treated myself to a manicure. It's been a long week and I felt like I'd definitely earned some R&R. Plus, my new Chanel polish arrived in the mail on Tuesday and I was dying to see what it looked like. The verdict is in and I love it! It's such a unique color. I can't even explain the shade. It's in the taupe family, but from some angles it looks almost like an army green or grayish-olive.

I also browsed through Victoria's Secret and picked up this lip gloss heart ring. I couldn't resist! They had me at the colorful foil packaging. Yes, I'm a sucker. I picked the yellow ring, mostly because it's not the color I would typically choose. It's amazing how a little $5 trinket can make me so happy! I'm going to curl up with a blanket on the couch and catch up on some of my DVR'd shows from this week. I hope Grey's Anatomy was good last night!
How do you unwind after a long week?

Cake Gloss

Remember how I said I loved cupcakes? Well, this is my new obsession of the moment! It's a cute miniature cupcake that opens up to reveal a pot of shimmery strawberry-scented lip gloss. I found it at a children's shop (of course) on my ski trip in New Hampshire (which I still have to blog about). I love little novelty items like this, they just make me happy. I bought the strawberry cupcake with pink frosting filled with pale pink gloss but there were several other types to choose from. I've never seen these anywhere before! Looking back, I wish I had gotten one of every flavor because I know I'm going to use it up in the next couple of weeks.Luckily, I found four glosses that can be ordered as a set here.
Wouldn't they make great favors at a little girl's birthday party?
